Vlijmen, MFA Caleidoscoop (formerly De Mand) Photo exhibition by Photo Shoot 4 Fun in Vlijmen

On Saturday, October 3, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., the annual photo exhibition by the Photo Shoot 4 Fun Photo Club will open its doors at MFA De Caleidoscoop (still known to many as De Mand) at Jan Steenstraat 2 in Vlijmen.
Councilman Jeroen van den Bosch will perform the official opening, after which visitors can enjoy a surprising and diverse exhibition for an entire weekend.
Admission is free.

Two brand-new features

This year, the photo club is presenting two completely new features that give the exhibition a fresh new look.
After years of organizing the popular ABC assignment, the photographers are making way this year for an interactive challenge: Proverbs.
Visitors will see 27 photos depicting a proverb. Using a list of 60 proverbs, they’ll try to match the correct proverb to each photo.
It’s a fun puzzle that combines creativity, humor, and a keen eye.
Of course, a great prize awaits the best sleuth.

Also new is the assignment “De Mand,” named after the former name of MFA De Caleidoscoop. After no less than 15 years, this assignment replaces the familiar “Rode Draad,” which was a mainstay of the club for many years.
Each photographer has interpreted this new theme in their own way, resulting in surprising and diverse images.

Something for every photography enthusiast to discover
The exhibition offers much more than just the club assignments. It is precisely the members’ independent work that makes a visit special.
Every photographer has his or her own style, passion, and specialization. This results in a colorful and varied exhibition featuring landscapes, nature and bird photography, portraits, macro photography, architecture, street photography, abstract images, and creative photo edits.
From impressive details to sweeping vistas and from serene black-and-white images to colorful compositions: every visitor is sure to come across photos that resonate with them or surprise them.

Also on display are photos taken specifically for the club’s theme, “Farmers at Work in Heusden,” and the solo assignment “Decay—The Beauty of the Old, Broken, and Rusty,” which focuses on the beauty of transience.

Last chance to see this special project
This is also the last chance to admire the joint project by Foto Collectief Heusden (Photo Club Photo Shoot 4 Fun and Photo Group Vlijmen) centered on the municipal theme of the year, “Look Beyond Your Own Boundaries.” As a result, the exhibition “Taal in Beeld” is on display once again. For this project, fourteen photographers drew inspiration from the poems of Ruud and Monique Poppelaars.
The result is a unique interplay between poetry and photography, in which words and images reinforce each other in surprising ways.

Cast your vote and meet the photographers
Visitors can vote for their favorite photos and presentations. The photographers will be on hand both days to explain their work, their techniques, and the stories behind the photos.
Anyone who’s gotten excited about it can also get to know the club—with no obligation—and learn more about becoming a member.

The exhibition is open on Saturday, October 3, and Sunday, October 4, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on both days. Admission is free.
