In addition to their own physical therapy practice, a Bed & Breakfast and a farm with animals, Ad and Marianne also provide balloon rides. Ad and Marianne were inspired in 1983 by a hot air balloon festival in Raamsdonksveer. Together they developed a passion that grew into an official aviation business in 1988.

The freedom and peace you experience while ballooning is the most wonderful thing for Marianne.
You occasionally hear the balloon's burners but other than that you hear nothing at all. There is something magical about that.
Ad and Marianne are among the older balloonists in the Netherlands. Yet every time, it still feels like they are just getting started. Despite the many flight hours on Ad's license, he is still excited every time he gets to take to the air. They both love being able to share their passion with the enthusiastic passengers.

At Roza Balloonflights everyone is welcome. We often take families or couples but also business relations or wedding couples. The only thing you have to take into account is that you have to be in reasonably good health and be able to stand still in the basket for an hour. The maximum number of passengers per cruise is six. You can decide whether you want a private cruise or not. A private cruise is possible from four people upwards. With a private cruise, no other passengers are added. With a regular cruise, the basket is supplemented to a maximum of six people, it does not matter whether you are alone or with several people. Ad and Marianne can sail throughout the Netherlands but mainly in Brabant. Many flights start in Geertruidenberg, Oosterhout, Waalwijk, Tilburg, Bavel or Gilze.
Ballooning is a seasonal activity. The sailing season usually lasts from April to the end of October, beginning of November.

On the day of sailing

When a balloon flight is planned, Ad and Marianne keep an eye on the weather all day. They receive updates several times a day via the meteo about the weather, and based on that they decide if they can go ballooning in the evening. A few hours in advance you hear if the sailing will go on. If the flight goes ahead, the gas cylinders are filled and they check if they can take off from the planned departure point because of the wind direction. At this spot you will meet Ad and Marianne and their crew. Then they launch a test balloon to see what the wind direction is. Then you get safety instructions. Within about half an hour you will be in the air and the follow car will follow the balloon. After you land, a baptismal ritual follows. Exactly what this ritual entails is a surprise!

Why Roza Ballooning?

Roza Ballooning is small-scale. This is partly because a maximum of six passengers accompany the flight. In addition, Marianne finds personal handling very important. Ad and Marianne do not sail for, but with their passengers. Marianne also provides delicious snacks and drinks. They treat everyone the same and are happy to look at where the passengers live to find a nice place nearby to take off.
