MASt route
On the edge of De Loonse Duinen, between Loon op Zand and Kaatsheuvel, the Germans' largest ammunition depot in Europe was located during World War II. Near the peace monument of the municipality of Loon op Zand you can still find remnants of the M.A.S.T., "Munitions Ausgabe Stelle." Walk past about five objects that recall the explosive past of the forest area the M.A.St. This former Munitions Ausgabe Stelle of the Germans was blown up on September 5, 1944.
