At the age of 14, director Nick Broomfield met guitarist Brian Jones by chance on a train. As one of the founding members of The Rolling Stones in 1962, Jones was at the height of his success, with the world at his feet. This film highlights the seven turbulent years until 1969, when Brian Jones had to leave the band. Shortly thereafter, he drowned in his swimming pool. Based on revealing interviews with all the main players and archival footage released for the first time, in The Stones and Brian Jones, the renowned filmmaker examines how the creative musical genius Brian Jones disappeared into the shadows of history.
