Discover the history and future of shoes and leather at Schoenenkwartier. Located in the west wing of the restored Kropholler complex in Waalwijk, in the heart of Langstraat. A must for lovers of shoes, design, architecture, art and culture!

The Schoenenkwartier rests on three pillars: the Make Labs, the Knowledge Center and the Museum. In the Maaklabs, craftspeople are paired - mostly volunteers who themselves have worked in the artisanal shoe industry - with young designers and makers with new techniques. A place for up-and-coming talent, established designers and the curious visitor. You never stop learning in the Knowledge Center. Here you can feel materials - old and new -, browse through magazines and books, pick up images and attend lectures. In the Museum, hundreds of shoes (from a collection of more than 20,000 objects), materials and equipment are on display in a floor space of more than 3,000 square meters. And with changing exhibits, there is something new to see with every visit!
