An elementary school teacher in a village in Mexico decides to completely change course and use "radical" methods to inspire his students and provide a better future.

Teacher Sergio Correa (Eugenio Derbez) arrives in good spirits at his new school in Matamoros, Mexico, near the Texas border. The inspired teacher soon discovers that the school has few resources - the computers were stolen four years ago and never replaced - and even less enthusiasm to teach the youngsters: the region is infested with gangs, the children often come from difficult home situations and achieve the lowest test scores in the country. He decides to completely change course and use "radical" methods to inspire his students and provide a better future. Radical is based on a true story, beautifully performed by the engaging young cast and lead Mexican superstar Eugenio Derbez, who also played a teacher in the Oscar-winning film Coda.

This inspiring indictment of convention was the winner of the Festival Favorite Award at the Sundance Film Festival and the winner of the LIFF audience award at the Leiden International Film Festival.
