Join the soldier school at Slot Loevestein

New soldiers beware! In defense of the castle and the Republic of the Seven United Netherlands, a new soldiers' enlistment will take place at Slot Loevestein on Wednesday, May 1.

And what is characteristic of a disciplined army? That soldiers are quiet, listen and follow orders, "Keep your trap shut soldier!". Learn the operations of loading the rifle and fighting in a group, because you don't fight alone! How do you put powder and a bullet in a musket? How do you use a ramrod? How to shoot "in rows and ranks"? How do you protect yourself from an attack?

This activity takes place five times a day. At 11:00, 12:00, 3:00 and 4:00 p.m. it is for children ages 7 and up. At 2:00 p.m. there is a training especially for children ages 4, 5 and 6.

Additional vacation activities
Scavenger hunt, tinsmith, friendship band making workshops and old Dutch games. Throughout the vacations, additional activities are offered. On Liberation Day, a column of old army vehicles will depart from Loevestein and you can participate in a quill writing workshop under the guidance of Hugo de Groot.
