Tour by Municipality of Waalwijk

1 hour 30 minutes (28.2 km)

Using the bicycle junction network, you can travel the most beautiful routes, such as this 30-kilometer tour along 's Gravenmoer. Simply follow the node numbers on the posts from one numbered node to the next.

With this bike route you will cycle over picturesque dikes and along the Langstraat nature reserve, as well as cycling along the former border between Dongen and 's Gravenmoer which used to mark the border between the former Brabant and Holland. Nowadays there are oak border posts marking the line. Besides the river Donge, you will also pass a wide ditch. These ditches used to be dug for the transport of peat. Thanks to this ditch, 's Gravenmoer also owes its nickname: The Giethoorn of the South.

The Langstraat nature reserve lies on the transition from sand to clay, which is called the "Seam of Brabant." The distinctive feature of this nature reserve is the Snake Landscape, with its narrow parcels, which are fringed with alder hedges.
