Today's Van Drunen schoenfabriek started its family business on Grotestraat in 1948 under the name Durea. Son Karel goes back to the days when his mother still made coffee for the staff working in the shoe factory located behind the house. We get a glimpse of the current residence. In the living room, the workers were paid by the week, and due to lack of space, the bedrooms were full of shoe boxes.
