'Tour of Loon op Zand' at De Gouden Laars

Tour guide and member of the local history society Jan Vera takes visitors to special places in the village of Loon op Zand. The village where until the middle of 1900 many inhabitants worked in the tanneries or at home behind the stitching machine. The Tanners' Square in the middle of the village still refers to the large tannery that closed its doors in 1975. The new Castellany residential complex used to house the "Hollandia" leather factory, and during the bombing of the church, the faithful were given shelter in the former leather factory on Hoge Steenweg. A memorial stone is still evidence of this.
