The little Seed House opposite the castle existed before the castle was rebuilt in 1777. At the end of the nineteenth century it was in use as the painting studio of Mrs. Sophie Snouck-Hurgronje- Verheijen (1857-1939). Since the 1980s it has been occupied by private individuals.
