Parking in fortified town of Heusden

Free parking
It is best to park your car on the edge of the fortress. There are three large parking lots where there is usually space: on the Vestingstraat (P Heusden Centrum Zuid), the Mastdijk (P Heusden Centrum Oost) and the Tramhaven (P Heusden Centrum West). Parking is also free here. From here you can walk to the center in 5 to 10 minutes. This is a nice walk; along the way you get a nice view of the ramparts.

Handicapped parking card
Do you have a disabled parking permit? Then you can park for free on a general disabled parking space. You can find these on the Burchtplein, the Htg. Johanna van Brabantstraat (church), the Hoogstraat (house number 4), the Pelsestraat (Visitor Center), the Breestraat (Visitor Center), the Roomsche Kerkstraat (Sint Antoniushof) and the Demer (Seniorensociëteit). Of course, you can also park your car in other places in the fortress.

Parking for buses
Buses can enter the fortress via the Steenweg and the Oudheusdensestraat. Passengers can then get off at the Burchtplein. Buses can park in the parking lot on the Vestingstraat (P Heusden Centrum Zuid) from Monday to Friday. The fortress is also easily accessible on foot from this parking lot. Within 10 minutes you are in the center.

On Saturdays and Sundays, buses can enter the fortress via the N267 (Heesbeen exit). Passengers can then get off at the Burchtplein. Buses must then leave the fortress via Htg. Johanne van Brabantstraat towards Steenweg to then park on the parking lot on Grotestraat (P Heusden Centrum West) via the N267, Heesbeen exit. This parking lot can only be reached via Heesbeen - Grotestraat. Also from this parking lot the fortress is easily accessible on foot. Within 5 to 10 minutes you can walk to the center.

Parking residents/permit holders
The parking spaces in the fortress are mainly intended for residents/permit holders. Parking in the fortress is only allowed in the designated spaces.
