De Venloene

This location is part of the route 'Walking in historic Loon op Zand'.

This residential care center was, in the period from 1926 to 1971, a Convent-hostel of the Sisters of Charity of Schijndel, the Sint-Gerlachusgesticht. The building was then used from 1971 to 2005 as a retirement center De Venloene. After 34 years of use, the building was demolished in March/April 2005 to make way for the new Venloene. The name is a derivation of Venloon, the former name for Loon op Zand.
