A hurricane of fire and steel

Saturday, November 4, 1944, is a black day in the history of the village of Drunen because of the devastation caused in a short time. In the late afternoon of November 4, 1944, soldiers of the 51st Highland Division crossed the Afwateringskanaal from 's-Hertogenbosch to Drongelen over a wide front, from Drunen to Cromvoirt. The operation was called Guy Fawkes.
