Natuurgebied De Baardwijkse Overlaat

The Baardwijkse Overlaat, located between Waalwijk and Drunen, was formerly used to allow water to flow into the spillway when the water level in the Maas River was high. This prevented dike breaches elsewhere. There is a 5 kilometer long scenic walking route from the Eindstraat in Drunen, over the Leidijk, the Heidijk, the Zomerkade, the Kanaaldijk and the Spoordijk, which also leads past De Lange- or Nieuwe Wiel.
