That is a safe harbor
It is now called the "muffled" (= drained) harbor for a reason. Part of the old harbor does still exist: across the highway. If you look closely, you can still see at this spot that there was a harbor here.
Facts from Sjors
- The building where the beer brewery now sits also used to be a warehouse.
- The restaurant on the corner was a café where the workmen of the harbor gathered.
- The edge of the parking lot used to be the edge of the harbor quay. So if you stood on that and fell, you were in the water!
