The 51st Highland Division advances rapidly toward the Bergsche Maas River. To cover the retreat, a small group of SS fight on until escape seems impossible. After the successful crossing of the Afwateringskanaal ('s-Hertogenbosch-Drongelen) on November 4, 1944, the division commander, General Rennie, exhorts his troops to hurry. Consequently, the advance toward Bergsche Maas continues during the night.
