Canal Walk Heusden

Heusden arose around one of the oldest water castles in northwestern Europe and was one of the first Dutch cities to receive a city wall. Thanks to restorations, much of the old Heusden can still be admired. Heusden originated around 1200 at the castle of the Heeren van Heusden. Strategically located on the Meuse River, the fortress was an important link between the Biesbosch and 's-Hertogenbosch. For tourist information, visit TIP Heusden.
