This route has real highlights. You pass through our three villages, cycle through the Loonse and Drunense Dunes, almost reach Tilburg and cycle through rural areas.
From De Moer, KP38, you cycle past the golf park and the Efteling. How about the vacation parks and Villa Pardoes? All beautiful in style, right? Then follows a beautiful bike ride through De Loonse en Drunense Duinen, KP11. Starting at our Peace Monument commemorating the victims of World War II. It depicts a shell, of which so many hit our villages.
Then at the intersection you will see our famous "liebaankske", KP32, where you are never shy of a chat. There often sit residents of the 'Kletsheuvel', among others. Then follows the Bosch en Duin viewpoint, KP36; highly recommended with a beautiful vista (see photo route 5). After that you cycle through rural areas with arable farming, horticulture and meadows.
A gem near Tilburg is 'Peerke Donders'. Do you want to go there? From KP42 you are almost at KP92 on the Moerstraat. There you turn left into the Pater Dondersstraat to pick up the route towards KP92 after the visit. It is definitely worthwhile to have a 'bakske' and to learn about the life story of Peerke Donders (1932); the 'Apostle of the Lepers'. Peerke became known for his missionary work in Suriname, where he worked in a leper colony. The chapel and the "crusade" are very special.
From Tilburg we cycle to Loon op Zand, KP37. You pass the Finance (where they can bake delicious pancakes), past the White Castle and the church. In the center you can go for a drink, ice cream or a delicious lunch. Just what you deserve!
Then we set course for De Moer. You cycle along recreational lake Het Blauwe Meer, KP13, and then through the still barely discovered beautiful nature reserve Huis ter Heide (1100 ha). Especially on foot you can enjoy the forests, fens and beautiful views. Beware: you can just stray Scottish Highlanders. Even on the bike path! Along the bicycle route is also Gedenkbos De Spinder (10 ha) and Natuurbegraafplaats Huis ter Heide (35 ha). These special places 'saw the light of day' in 2021. It is freely accessible.
Back in De Moer, KP38? Drop in at the catering establishments or, if the weather is good, pick up a terrace and enjoy our typical Brabant hospitality and conviviality!
