In 1924, a long-cherished wish of the Vereniging Waalwijksch Belang comes true: the purchase of its own bandstand for the giving of public concerts. Since 1907, Waalwijksch Belang has been committed to the "prosperity and flowering of Waalwijk" in the broadest sense of the word and to this end organizes sporting and cultural events, among other things.

The kiosk is initially located on the Markt, near the corner with Grotestraat. When in 1934 the Raadhuisplein was completed, it was given a place there. Two years later it is decided to build into the gallery on the west side of the Raadhuisplein a stone music kiosk. The mobile kiosk is then sold to music societies in Sprang-Capelle and finally ends up as a "gazebo" in a private garden in Waalwijk.

During work in that garden, contractor Bert van Wijlen manages to save the "gazebo" from demolition. After a thorough restoration by Aannemersbedrijf van Wijlen B.V., the kiosk of Waalwijksch Belang returns to the center in 2021.

The kiosk was designed by Ir. W. van Veen of Breda. The ornamental ironwork was carried out by the Waalwijk firm Wed. J. Verhulst & Sons.
