Cycling routes in The Langstraat

Cycle through the nature of De Loonse en Drunense Duinen or Huis ter Heide. Venture into the four corners of the world with Sint Jan de Doper. Cycle over dikes and through the polder. Or cycle through the history of Waalwijk with a route along information stones about how it used to be.

You will also find special themed routes. About leather, regional products and the flora and fauna in Waalwijk, Kaatsheuvel, Loon op Zand and Heusden.

  • Choose for example a so-called 'experience route' that takes you from the past to the present and even the future of the shoe and leather industry in Waalwijk, Sprang-Capelle and Waspik: Learning route - Made in Brabant

  • How about the exciting saga of a real gang. Cycling through Loon op Zand, De Moer and Dongen you pass places where gang members have left their traces, such as the mysterious White Castle in Loon op Zand: Gang of the White Feather

  • Or imagine yourself in the Middle Ages with cycling routes around Vestingstad Heusden. Or cycle from fortress to fortress with routes from Heusden to Geertruidenberg and back, or Heusden-Woudrichem-Heusden.

Just to name a few options....

Grab your bike or e-bike and explore the most beautiful region of Brabant! What are you waiting for?

Mountain biking in National Park De Loonse en Drunense Duinen

In National Park De Loonse en Drunense Duinen you will find two mountain bike routes: a green route and a more difficult black route.

To ride the mountain bike trails you need an MTB vignette. Buy your MTB vignette online.

On the road bike

The Langstraat region is also a wonderful area for the cyclists among us. From fine (fast) bike paths to cobblestones. From flat areas to sneaky height differences. And from sheltered spots to challenging windy dikes.

How about a ride from Loon op Zand towards De Moer and Waspik. Via Raamsdonk to the other side of the Maas to blaze along the water via Drongelen and Bern to Heusden Vesting. Then you ride via Vlijmen through National Park De Loonse en Drunense Duinen back to Loon op Zand. A lovely ride which can be extended to the surroundings of Breda, 's Hertogenbosch (Den Bosch) and/or Tilburg.

You will not find routes for road bikes on our website. We know that the cycling community is very active on Strava. So there you can find beautiful laps through the region and compete for wins on the segments. There is challenge enough!

Refill your water bottles for free at the various water taps in the region. On drinkwaterkaart.nl you can see which point is near you.

Of course Loon op Zand, Kaatsheuvel, Waalwijk, Heusden, Drunen and the surrounding area are bursting with catering outlets that welcome cyclists and cyclists. Go for a refreshment in between, or blow out at the end of your ride on one of the many terraces.

Need a bike?

Whether it's a bike or mountain bike for adults or children, a bike with a child's seat, cargo bike, electric bike, tandem or e-chopper: at the various bike rental locations in Waalwijk, Kaatsheuvel, Loon op Zand and Drunen, you'll find it all, including the required or desired accessories.

Bike broken?

Have you gone cycling too enthusiastically and is your bike broken? Then you can either rent another bike or have your own bike fixed right away. Fortunately, there are plenty of bicycle repair shops in De Langstraat. There is always one nearby. And if not, there is even a mobile bicycle repairer who will come to you.

Water points and bicycle pumps

It is important while cycling that you always have enough water. Municipality of Waalwijk, Heusden and Loon op Zand all have several points in the cities, villages and nature where you can tap water for free. On drinkwaterkaart.nl you can find the nearest water tapping point.

You can also find bicycle pumps here and there: stainless steel fences containing a bicycle pump. These can be found at the Halve Zolenpad, at the intersection with Bachlaan and Burgemeester van der Klokkenlaan in Waalwijk, among other places.

Have fun cycling!
