Church and village

Western part (3,6 km): You may start at the Anton Pieckplein.

  1. Walk along the north side towards the west. Crosswalk, Vossenbergselaan winding middle path. The wadis provide good water management.
  2. At sign Kennedyplein: play/grass field cross diagonally. Ready to free-run?
  3. Keep left, cross Berndijksestraat, Asterstraat.
  4. Turn right Hilsestraat until the end.
  5. Just left and right. Church HH. Martelaren van Gorcum and monastery. Here you see a church, cemetery, monastery and a war memorial.
  6. Back, left Sweensstraat direction north.
  7. At crossing with old shoe factory end of street, right Antoniusstraat, where the old shoe factories start behind the houses.
  8. Antoniusstraat becomes Hoofdstraat, along Sint Janskerk. Along the way you see care location De Vossenberg on the left with a beautiful public chapel and walking park behind the former Mission House. The Sint Janskerk is also worth seeing, both during the day and in the evening.
  9. On the right Dr. Van Beurdenstraat. Count the old shoe factories and workshops; incredible! Tip: you can often see it better from the other side.
  10. End right Gasthuisstraat. Also here you can still see old shoe factories.
  11. End right, immediately left Anton Pieckplein, end of route.

Eastern part (3,5 km): You may start at the Anton Pieckplein.

  1. Walk along the north side of the square towards the east and turn left into the Peperstraat. You will see an old shoe factory on your left, which is now a hotel.
  2. End right, Hoofdstraat, past Sint Janskerk, which is worth seeing. During the day and in the evening.
  3. After the Dr. Van Beurdenstraat fork right. Mgr. Völkerstraat Although here most (especially) large shoe factories have been demolished, there is still something to discover.
  4. End of street Dr. Ariënsplein crosses diagonally right.
  5. Walk left around Wilhelminaplein to the Sint-Josefkerk, into Sint-Josefstraat. After a long procedure with Diocese of Den Bosch, this church was given a new use and thus saved from demolition.
  6. Right Van Heeswijkstraat, turns into Gasthuisstraat. Also here are still quite a few old shoe factories and workshops to discover. Different architecture. Attached, detached and also with more floors.
  7. End right, immediately left Anton Pieckplein, end of route.
