Meet the Loonse and Drunense Dunes. Our 'backyard' is one of the largest areas of drifting sand in Western Europe and is also called the 'Brabant Sahara'. On the dune edges you will find about 180 Dune Farmers, who together with Natuurmonumenten are committed to sustainable farming and nature conservation.

The route goes through forests with often meadows on the left. You can see the drifting sand in a number of places and there are a number of taverns with terraces along the route.

From Loon op Zand, KP37, you cycle to KP32. Here you can choose to add a round of Kaatsheuvel, KP11, or continue straight to KP22. From Kaatsheuvel, KP51, you cycle in the direction of Waalwijk until KP22.

Shortly after KP22 you come to the 'Roestelberg'. Many generations have played here in the sand, climbed in the trees and sledded down the mountain when it snowed. It is still an attraction.

We cycle in the direction of Drunen. You pass De Klinkert and the hamlet of Giersbergen, KP34. Further on you cycle through dunes again. Look carefully! It lies largely behind the dune walls. Via De Rustende Jager, KP35, you cycle along the dune wall towards Bosch en Duin. Over the centuries, dune walls protected the farmland from the rising sand drift.

At KP36 a winding path leads to a unique panoramic viewpoint over the large shifting sand plain of De Loonse en Drunense Duinen. Along this path is also the memorial to 14 resistance fighters who were shot in World War II and never recovered.

Towards KP32 we come to perhaps the most beautiful spot. Take a seat on the "stand" to the left of the bike path and enjoy the unique picture.

Take a breather at the 'Leugenbaankske' at KP32? Enjoy the view and have a nice chat. Tip: don't believe everything! Then cycle back to Loon op Zand, KP37, or Kaatsheuvel. Between KP11 and KP52 you cycle between Villa Pardoes and the Efteling to Kaatsheuvel.

Had a nice trip? Then you must be ready for something tasty! In the centers of Kaatsheuvel or Loon op Zand we like to spoil you with our hospitality and a snack and drink. Enjoy!
