Church and meadow

This route goes from the outskirts of Kaatsheuvel into the countryside. The Erasstraat used to be a 'maligned' street. Here lived mainly scissor grinders and oilmen who tried to sell their merchandise far from home. On a small scale, the smallholders 'farmed' for their own use and for barter. Meanwhile, the Erasstraat has acquired a typical Brabant character, of which we are proud.

In the continuation of the Erasstraat you walk along the wastewater treatment plant of the Brabantse Delta. To prevent polluted water from flowing into nature, the water board purifies the wastewater before it is discharged into the surface water. Using settling and aeration technology with bacteria, it becomes clean water, leaving muddy sludge, which is then transported to incinerators in Moerdijk or to sludge digesters nearby. Digestion produces usable biogas.

This is a quiet area; you walk between the meadows and Dongen is 5 km to the west. The pastures are used for agriculture, including corn and grass for hay. Meanwhile, there are also developments in greenhouse farming. Halfway along the route you pass the cozy cafe De Dreef.

We like to let you enjoy the beautiful views with the beautiful sunsets in the west. Each time you will be surprised with a "different painting. The long agricultural roads with rows of trees are typically Brabant.
