Our store
In the historic fortified town of Heusden, a medieval craft is still practiced: candlemaker. Owner Toon Verschuren works in D'n Kaarsenstal where he dips candles, keeps the old craft alive and talks passionately about the craft and candles. In D'n Kaarsenstal you can see Toon at work and of course you can buy the candles. These are the real candles to burn without soot and dripping and that burn up completely. You will not find candles from leftovers with us because this does not guarantee the same candle quality. Only the best quality kerosene is used with us. This combined with the dipping process gives a fantastic burning candle.

Toon learned the craft the old-fashioned way by passing it on from master to apprentice. He was eager, enthusiastic and challenged himself more and more with even more difficult tasks, so he quickly mastered the craft. He had found his passion in life. Candles can be made to measure and to color if desired. Also for anniversary candles (wedding candles, birth candles, christening candles) and large or special candles such as church candles, In D'n Kaarsenstal is the right address. Toon stands behind the dipping vessel with paraffin and visitors can watch the craft of dipping candles up close. Toon also conveys his love for the craft by talking about it with passion.
