Loon op Zand could call itself the proud winner of the title Wandelgemeente van het Jaar in 2021. Every year, Wandelkrant 'on foot' assesses Dutch municipalities on walking friendliness for the election of Walking Municipality of the Year. Dozens of municipalities compete for the title each year. The public and the jury could cast their votes: Loon op Zand emerged as the winner. And we understand that, because there are some beautiful hiking trails here!
